The results of an open competition for the development, technical maintenance and information support of the SOYUZ-INFO (www.sinfo.ru) Internet portal have been announced. The competition was organized by the Permanent Committee of the Russia-Belarus Union together with the Television and Radio Broadcasting Organization of the Union.

The competition package was based on the federal law "On Competitions for Placing Orders for Supplies of Goods, Performing Work and Rendering Services for Government Needs" (N 97-FZ as of May 6, 1999). The package was sent to 20 organizations in Belarus and Russia. The competition's commission received four applications, however, only three organizations were allowed to take part in the competition. They were:
