Under the framework of summing up the results of the 5th annual contest for the most transparent company, the Financial Press Club (FPC) awarded RIA RosBusinessConsulting with a special certificate for the successful floatation of media shares on the stock market. The following companies were recognized as the most transparent last year: the ARKO bank-restructuring agency (in the category for state organizations), the Bank of Moscow (in the category for commercial banks), ROSNO (in the category for insurance companies), NIKoil (in the category for investment companies) and East Line (in the category for the industrial sector of the economy). The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs received a special certificate for "a significant contribution to the development of a civilized business community in the country" and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for "launching the Media-Sotcium TV project". Special certificates were awarded to Aeroflot for "surmounting a crisis of trust", the Russian Federal Securities Commission for "the development of the Corporate Governance Code", the Russian Audit Chamber for "an active assistance in increasing the openness of the country's economy" and the General Prosecutor's Office for "the most open law enforcement body". The awarding ceremony, which was held at the Metropol Hotel on May 14, 2002, was attended by representatives of Russian law enforcement bodies, the business community and the financial media including Federal Securities Commission Chairman Igor Kostikov, head of the State Duma's committee for property Victor Pleskachevsky, deputy chief of the State Duma's banking committee Vladimir Tarachyov, ARKO general director Alexander Turbanov and Aeroflot general director Valeriy Okulov.
