One of the most successful business media holdings, RosBusinessConsulting, has turned 15 years old. This is still quite a young age for a company, but RBC has already established itself as a respectable one.

The company celebrated its birthday in the capital’s central exhibition hall Manezh. The festivities can be described as pompous and grandeur. A huge model of a ship sailing forward against the Kremlin’s background was placed at the entrance to the main hall. According to the organizer’s idea, the ship symbolizes the company itself sailing towards a happy future. Among RBC’s well-wishers were prominent business people and politicians, artists and musicians.

Just as it usually goes at birthday celebrations, congratulating RBC on its anniversary, the guests reminisced about the ‘baby’ years of the company, its humble beginnings. Yet RBC started out more than just modestly. In 1993, the staff of the future media holding consisted of only four people. The only advantage of the company was its possession of offset printing equipment, which was used for printing small four-page bulletins. They contained primarily business-related information: currency and stock exchange rates. Later, in 1995, when the company launched its online operations, RBC expanded its business and began providing clients not only with business news, but also with information about all the current affairs in the world.

Having been incorporated as an information agency, RosBusinessConsulting gradually turned into an enormous media holding. It currently unites print media and TV, a publishing house and a wide array of online resources. RBC is undoubtedly being read, watched and listened to, but the key to its success is the fact that people genuinely trust the company. Natural Resources and Ecology Minister of Russia Yury Trutnev indicated in his greeting address to RBC that “For many people, the morning begins with reading your information products. This is certainly the result of work by RBC’s great team. RBC truly deserves the goodwill and recognition of the most extensive audience.”
