A ceremony of awarding Person of the Year-2003 prizes, founded by RBC, was held in the Palace of Patriarchs of the Moscow Kremlin the other day. These prizes are awarded to entrepreneurs and public and political figures who, in the opinion of the expert council, personify the most substantial trends in the country’s development.

In the opinion of Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, voiced before the opening of the ceremony, Person of the Year is one of the most reputable awards in Russia now. “People who receive awards here are real leaders, who will determine the policy and the development of our country for the next several years,” Dvorkovich pointed out.

Government and public figures, representatives of the business community, the cultural sector, the scientific community and the media attended the ceremony.

ROSBANK Executive Board Chairman Alexander Popov became the laureate in the category Financier of the Year.
