Business TV: targeting specific audience

Recently, Moscow inhabitants that have access to cable and satellite TV networks NTV-plus, Kosmos-TV, Comcor-TV and Divo-TV discovered a new television channel, RBC TV. This is the first TV channel in Russia to highlight Russian and international financial markets 24 hours a day 7 days a week. According to RBC General Director Yury Rovensky, this new project of RosBusinessConsulting is targeting business and political elite, in the first place, e.g. top managers, Russian entrepreneurs and not a broad audience. Therefore, the new TV channel broadcasts via fee-based television networks. The total volume of investments in the new project reached about $23m, including $6m in attracted investments and the remaining amount was allocated from the company's own funds. RBC TV's appearance will resemble that of the Bloobmerg business TV channel. It has also signed partner agreements with CNN and CNBC. RBC TV will broadcast live starting at 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. and replays of daytime programs will be broadcasted at night. Advertising will be the TV channel's main source of revenues.
