Izvestia, Vol. 54 (26371), March 28, 2003
State officials and businesspeople smile infrequently. It is not time for that now. However, they have had a pretext for giving shining smiles to each other recently. They were praised, held up as an example and even awarded. The laureates of the Person of the Year 2002 national award were announced in the evening on March 26. Real celebrities gathered in the exquisite Chamber of the Patriarchs of the Moscow Kremlin. Barrister Barshchevsky with his spouse. Vladimir Pozner with his spouse. Konstantin Borovoy. Strangely, he was without Novodvorskaya. Doctor Roshal entered the chamber, wearing a modest suit, as if he felt shy for some reason. Fetisov was late, but was courteous as he always is. Tatyana Paramonova shined with heavy diamond ear-rings and a reserved smile.
The ceremony was developing solemnly and sedately. The laureates were coming at the stage, receiving decorations, saying complimentary words addressed to the founder of the award, RosBusinessConsulting, and, of course, were paying delicate compliments to each other.
