Federation Council Chairman Sergey Mironov sent a welcoming letter in connection with the ceremony of awarding the laureates of the Grand Prix of the Person of the Year 2002 national award. "We are honoring the people whose achievements allowed our country to make a number of important steps last year, which facilitate intensification of the processes of integration," the letter reads. "Their names will be announced soon, the names of the people whose efforts, aimed at continuing successful development of our country, were highly appreciated by the people of Russia."

The Person of the Year annual national award was founded by the RosBusinessConsulting Russian Information Agency.
