Teleinform news agency President of the Siberian Coal Energy Company Oleg Miserva and Senior Deputy Chairman of the Russian Central Bank Tatyana Paramonova won the Grand Prix of the national award the Person of the Year 2002. The ceremony took place in the Kremlin last week. RIA RosBusinessConsulting established this contest. The winners are chosen by an expert panel, which provides for objectivity in determining nominees and laureates of the award and the variety in the choice of candidates. Among the laureates of the award are head of the Russian Presidential Administration Alexander Voloshin, Presidential Advisor Andrey Illarionov, Chairman of the Russian State Sports Committee Vyacheslav Fetisov, Krasnodar regional governor Alexander Tkachyov, head of the Moscow Soloists chamber orchestra Yury Bashmet, and President of the Russian Television Academy Vladimir Pozner, who is also the host of the Vremena (Times) TV program. The laureates of the award will be decorated with gold medallions and diplomas of honor. The winners of the Grand Prix are to be decorated with the Fame of Russia order. The major criteria for selecting laureates are innovativeness of candidates' activities, their special achievements or special personal and professional features. The importance of the personal contribution in the development of a company, an industry and the country, and its integration in the world community is assessed, too.
