| RBC registering .biz and .info domains
RosBusinessConsulting holding announced the beginning of registration of domain names in the .info and .biz zones. They are expected to make the life of web site users and owners easier. The process of registering .info domains began on October 1 and is available for everyone interested. The registration in the .biz zone will begin on October 15. Domain names in this zone can be used for commercial web sites.
New .info and .biz zones make it possible for companies to register new names attractive for customers and useful for users. For this reason, cyber-squatters will try to occupy the best domain names, so that slow companies will have to pay high prices for them. Soon however, another five domain zones will be opened.
Serious overfilling of traditional .com, .net and .org domain names is the main reason for establishing new domain zones. "There are almost no simple and easy-to-remember names there now. Though domain names in the .com zone seem more familiar for us, nevertheless we will get accustomed to new domains soon, as they open new opportunities," Vice President of RBC for Information Technologies Alexey Kuzovkin stressed. Some analysts say the number of registered domain names in the .biz zone will exceed that in the .com zone by 2004.
RosBusinessConsulting continues registering .com, .net and .net domain names in CIS and Baltic languages in its Moscow and Saint Petersburg offices. The company has to go through the last two stages in the process of testing the Internet infrastructure. It will allow for successful functioning of multi-language domains.
