Deputy PM sizes up ongoing political processes
RBC, 27.01.2012, Moscow 16:37:48.The social and political processes, which are currently taking place in Russia, are very positive, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said at a working breakfast for international investors at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Shuvalov, who heads up the Russian delegation at the forum, said that the authorities now have an opportunity to hear the voices demanding changes. Such changes, aimed at improving the political landscape and enhancing economic competitiveness are really necessary, he acknowledged. One of the most difficult issues on the agenda is an inordinately large public sector. "Considerable monopolization of the economy stems from the political system," he added.
