Zarubezhneft ditches hydrocarbon project in Jordan
RBC, 26.01.2012, Moscow 10:42:38.Russia's state-owned oil company Zarubezhneft has decided to pull out of a project to tap the Southern block in Jordan, the company's CEO Nikolay Brunich said, RBC Daily reported. According to him, the project has no prospects. Zarubezhneft was considering shale gas production at the field as well as cooperation with neighboring states, namely Iraq, but these projects fell through, Brunich added. In May 2011, Zarubezhneft and Jordan's Natural Resources Authority signed a six-month agreement to explore the Southern block.
