Russia lacks intellectual property market, Duma deputy says
RBC, 09.09.2010, Moscow 18:57:57.Russia's lack of an industrial intellectual property market is diminishing the effect of anti-crisis measures undertaken by the government and the Central Bank, chairman of the State Duma economic policy and entrepreneurship committee Yevgeny Fyodorov said about the report on anti-crisis measures in January-June 2010 reviewed by the committee today. "The low efficiency of measures in the sphere of economic modernization can be attributed to the lack of rights to the results of economic activities and capitalization of intellectual property in companies," he stated. According to the deputy, not only are the development of competition, efficient state expenses and tariffs policy important, but also the economy's modernization and its evolution into an innovative economy. "With this in mind, the transformation of applied science in scientific business, which currently does not exist in Russia, should be a priority at the moment. Such a transition would bring about environmentally safe, energy efficient companies with high labor efficiency," Fyodorov said.
