Russian, U.S. officials discuss START ratification
RBC, 09.09.2010, Moscow 10:53:32.Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a meeting with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns in Moscow on Wednesday. During the meeting, the parties discussed a series of questions related to bilateral cooperation, including the progress in the ratification of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START), and the coordination of actions in the context of Russia's accession to the WTO. Lavrov and Burns paid special attention to the schedule of communications between high-level politicians, the Russian Foreign Ministry's information and media department announced today. The officials also exchanged opinions on a wide range of pressing international topics, including the settlement of the Middle East problem, the Iranian nuclear program, and the situation in Afghanistan.
