Kazakhstan mulls joint grain terminal with Russia
RBC, 06.09.2010, Moscow 15:52:59.Kazakhstan's parliament has offered Russia the chance to create a joint grain terminal project in the Far East, speaker of the lower chamber of Kazakhstan's parliament Romin Madinov announced at a conference today. According to him, such a terminal should have a capacity of 200,000-300,000 tonnes of storage and handling. At the same time, he indicated that the grain potential of members of the Customs Union - Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus - could exceed that of the U.S., provided that the three countries coordinate their policies. With this in mind, the new terminal could become the basis for strengthening these countries' positions on the global food market.
