Russia divulges weekly inflation
RBC, 01.09.2010, Moscow 17:54:05.Russia's inflation amounted to 0.1 percent between August 24 and 30, 2010, to 0.6 for the month-to-date, and to 5.4 percent since the beginning of the year, the Russian Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported today. In August of last year, inflation stood at 0 for the corresponding period and at 8.3 percent for the period since the beginning of the year. In the reporting period, prices on eggs climbed 8.3 percent, and on buckwheat rose 5.1 percent. Similarly, prices on wheat flour, wheat and sugar jumped between 1.6 and 2.5 percent. Sour cream, milk, cottage cheese and butter prices went up 0.8-1.2 percent. Conversely, fruit and vegetable prices inched down 0.3 percent on average. Car gasoline prices added 0.1 percent, and diesel fuel prices remained virtually unchanged.
