Russia, U.S. hope to sign START soon
RBC, 19.03.2010, Moscow 18:42:03.Russia and the U.S. expect the new offensive strategic arms treaty (START) to be signed in the near future, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced at a joint press conference following their meeting in Moscow today, the Rossiya 24 TV channel reported. Lavrov quoted Russian President Dmitry Medvedev as saying during today's meeting with Hillary Clinton that the parties were "very close to the new agreement." Clinton confirmed this by saying that "The negotiators have agreed upon the key issues, and now have to deal with technical aspects."
