Naftogaz to pay for gas with its own funds
RBC, 19.03.2010, Kiev 16:47:13.Naftogaz of Ukraine is poised to pay Russia for supplied natural gas in April 2010 using its own funds, without taking out financial resources from the budget, RBC Ukraine reported today citing Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov. He made this statement at a press conference in Dnepropetrovsk, and also noted that the fuel and energy minister must ensure that budget expenses on gas payments were brought down to a minimum in March and eliminated altogether in the following months. The Ukrainian cabinet also commissioned the Economy, Finance and Fuel and Energy Ministries to consider the possibility of differentiated gas pricing, specifically for the population. The government is expected to pass a decision on the matter within the next two months.
