"We will build the center at a place where we can get a head start and complete the work quickly," he stated. Medvedev indicated that developing technologies was the government's top priority at the moment. Skolkovo will be turned into a city where the president's five high-tech spheres will be developed on the basis of the center: energy, IT, telecommunications, biomedicine and nuclear technologies. Medvedev also indicated that Skolkovo was chosen as the location for the Russian Silicon Valley because of its proximity to existing scientific centers, as well as the region's accessibility by transport.
