UN, CSTO sign declaration on cooperation
RBC, 18.03.2010, Moscow 15:31:51.The United Nations and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have signed a joint declaration on cooperation. The declaration was signed by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha. The document regulates relations between the two organizations. Earlier, Bordyuzha announced that the declaration provided for political cooperation, joint anti-crisis measures, anti-terrorist actions, and measures to prevent drug trafficking, illegal immigration, and organized crime. "Cooperation between the UN and CSTO will be organized as joint activities, and if there is a crisis situation in certain regions, the UN can rely on us," the official stated.
