Russia posts preliminary budget deficit
RBC, 11.03.2010, Moscow 17:28:17.According to preliminary data, the federal budget deficit amounted to RUB 194.62bn (approx. USD 6.55bn) in January-February 2010, the Russian Finance Ministry announced today. In January alone, Russia's budget deficit stood at RUB 66.1bn (approx. USD 2.22bn). Budget revenue reached RUB 1.308 trillion (approx. USD 44bn) in the first two months of the year, or 18.8 percent of the target figure for the full year. Meanwhile, budget expenses stood at RUB 1.502 trillion (approx. USD 51bn), or 15.2 percent of the target figure. Primary deficit amounted to RUB 158.7bn (approx. USD 5.34bn) in January-February 2010.
