Clinton to discuss START in Moscow
RBC, 11.03.2010, Moscow 16:42:27.U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to visit Moscow on March 18-19, official spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Andrei Nesterenko announced at a press briefing today. Clinton is expected to participate in the meeting of the 'quartet' and discuss the negotiations process on the drafting of the new offensive strategic arms treaty (START) with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. According to Nesterenko, Lavrov and Clinton plan to define the key areas of bilateral cooperation for the near term. Furthermore, among other issues on the meeting's agenda is the Middle East peace process, political and diplomatic settlement of the Iranian nuclear program, and the strengthening of Russian-U.S. cooperation in stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan.
