Inter RAO UES hopes to triple trade transactions with Kazakhstan
RBC, 11.03.2010, Moscow 15:45:18.Inter RAO UES expects the amount of trade transactions between Russia and Kazakhstan to triple after the parties sign corresponding agreements on exports and imports of electricity and transition to the daily planning of energy supplies, the Russian company announced today. Last year, Russia imported 2.1bn kilowatt-hours from Kazakhstan and exported 0.6bn kilowatt-hours. Inter RAO UES and Kazakh KEGOC are currently in talks on the signing of the electricity sales and purchase agreements, which will supplement the new agreement on the parallel work of Russia and Kazakhstan's energy systems. The documents are to be signed by March 15, 2010. The energy companies have agreed to introduce a daily approval of supplies. The parties believe that a transition to this type of system of energy supplies will allow more precise planning of the amount of energy consumption in Russia and Kazakhstan's energy systems.
