Real effective ruble firms vs. foreign currencies
RBC, 09.03.2010, Moscow 18:47:44.The real effective ruble rate climbed 5 percent against foreign currencies in January-February 2010 on a year-on-year basis, the Bank of Russia's documents indicate. Compared with January 2010, the rate rose 2.4 percent. Year on year, the real ruble rate inched up 1 percent against the U.S. dollar, and 9.3 percent against the euro. The nominal effective ruble rate climbed 3.2 percent year on year, with a 6.2-percent rise against the euro and a 0.8-percent slide against the dollar. The real effective rate, meanwhile, jumped 11.4 percent against foreign currencies compared with January-February 2009.
