Moscow, Kiev to put an end to 'black phase'
RBC, 05.03.2010, Moscow 14:50:02.The election of the new president in Ukraine should put an end to the 'black stripe' in relations between Moscow and Kiev, and, according to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's statements at today's meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yanukovich, we will soon see a completely different type of relations. The Vesti 24 news channel cited Medvedev as saying that he hoped "bilateral relations would become a lot closer and be based on kind feelings and pragmatism." He added that the new relations must be based on the wishes of the two countries' people, on the notion of strengthening economic development and creating a strong platform for the "normal life of a huge number of Russian and Ukrainian citizens." Yanukovich is in Moscow for his first official visit as President of Ukraine.
