Gazprom, Japan discuss cooperation in gas sphere
RBC, 09.02.2010, Moscow 17:55:28.Gazprom's Chairman of the Executive Committee Alexei Miller and Japanese Ambassador to Russia Masaharu Kono held a business meeting in Moscow today and discussed the future of Russian-Japanese cooperation as part of the Eastern gas program. According to the Russian energy holding's media department, the parties indicated significant progress in the joint work of Gazprom, Japan's Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE), and Japanese companies aimed at cooperation in the creation of facilities for the production of liquefied and compressed gas, as well as cooperation in the construction of gas processing and petrochemical production plants in eastern Russia. Participants of the meeting also discussed the construction of the Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas transporting system and the important role it would play in increasing Russian natural gas exports.
