Medvedev congratulates Ukraine's president-elect
RBC, 09.02.2010, Moscow 15:58:07.Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has congratulated the leader of Ukraine's Party of Regions Viktor Yanukovich on his victory in the presidential election, the Russian leader's press office reported today. In today's telephone conversation, Medvedev congratulated Yanukovich on the successful completion of the election campaign, which was highly appraised by international observers, and on his win in becoming Ukraine's president. After tallying 99.97 percent of votes, the Central Election Commission announced that Yanukovich was in the lead with 48.95 percent of votes, and Yulia Timoshenko was second with 45.47 percent of votes.
