Russia hopes to prevent potential war in Iran
RBC, 09.02.2010, Moscow 14:46:25.There is currently the threat of a possible war in Iran, and Russia considers it absolutely necessary to prevent any such developments, chief of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev told a press conference today. He explained that European countries suspected Iran of developing nuclear weapons, but Tehran denied all these accusations and assured that its nuclear program was peaceful, the Mayak radio station reported. Patrushev also indicated that NATO still posed a significant threat to Russia, especially in light of its expansion thanks to the accession of new member states.
