Two major political parties ink deal
RBC, 08.02.2010, Moscow 15:58:50.The consultations held between two political parties - United Russia and Fair Russia - have led to the signing of a political agreement. Signed by the parties' chairmen Boris Gryzlov and Sergei Mironov, the document provides consent on four different issues. First and foremost, the parties have agreed to seek to act in coalition when addressing national challenges. Furthermore, the Fair Russia party expressed its support for the strategic tack pursued by Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister and United Russia leader Vladimir Putin regarding foreign policy, national security, the fundamentals of the constitutional system and rejection of extremism. With this in mind, the Fair Russia party will back all bills to this effect on all levels. In turn, the United Russia party has agreed to keep Sergei Mironov in the office of Federation Council chairman, where most members belong to the United Russia party. Any disagreements will be resolved through inter-partisan consultations, including by using the mass media.
