GDP drop in Russia highest among BRIC, G8 states
RBC, 19.11.2009, Moscow 14:14:24.Russia registered the most considerable drop in GDP - 8.9 percent - in the third quarter of this year among BRIC and G8 member states, the Russian Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported today. Great Britain ranks second with a drop of 5.2 percent, and Germany comes in third with a 4.8-percent drop. None of the countries registered a rise in industrial production in Q3, and Russia reported a 13.5-percent decrease. Meanwhile, inflation was registered in three countries - India (11.6 percent), Russia (10.7 percent) and Brazil (4.3 percent) as of the end of September. Unemployment stood at 7.6 percent.
