Anti-crisis measures still needed, Putin says
RBC, 09.11.2009, Moscow 14:44:53.The upturn in Russia's economy does not mean that there is no longer a need for anti-crisis measures, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at today's meeting of the foreign investment council in Moscow. He reiterated that the Russian economy clearly demonstrated growth in the second half of 2009. "We are seeing a decrease in inflation and a gradual decrease in unemployment, but this in no way means that we do not need to take further anti-crisis steps," the PM stated. He assured that the government would continue to encourage domestic demand, and support not only the financial system's stability, but also budgetary and macroeconomic stability. "It is still too early to say that we have effectively made the Russian economy most attractive for investors or have fully overcome the crisis, but we can certainly now be optimistic," Putin asserted.
