Russian ministries devise plan for promoting innovations
RBC, 09.11.2009, Moscow 12:35:59.The Russian Economic Development and Education and Science Ministries have prepared a joint plan for promoting innovative activities in Russia, Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina announced today at the legislators' council meeting at the Federation Council. Nabiullina explained that the plan provided for measures aimed at supporting small and medium-sized businesses introducing innovative technologies. For this purpose, she indicated, the government must create a system of grants. She also believes that the government should introduce tax incentives for innovative companies. Another important step is creating demand for innovative products, the minister said, adding that the state order must also be oriented at such products. Finally, Nabiullina made clear that implementing innovative technologies in the energy sector was one of the government's most important tasks.
