Russia posts monthly unemployment rate
RBC, 28.10.2009, Moscow 13:53:28.Russia's unemployment rate stood at 7.6 percent in September 2009, the press office of the Russian Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported today. The number of economically active citizens aged 17-52 stood at 76.2 million, or more than 53 percent of the country's population. Meanwhile, the number of economically active people dropped 0.2 million in September compared to August 2009. The lowest level of unemployment (5.3 percent) was registered in the Central Federal District, and the highest - in the Southern Federal District (10.4 percent).
