Moscow hopes situation with Telenor is resolved on corporate level
RBC, 24.03.2009, Moscow 19:18:52.Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov hopes that the situation with the Norwegian telecommunications company Telenor will be resolved on the corporate level. He said this at a press conference following talks with Norway's Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store. "We hope the situation is resolved without considerable harm for both parties to this private enterprise on the corporate level, and believe there is every opportunity for this to happen," Lavrov noted. He expressed hope that this was also within the interests of both conflicting companies, Telenor and VimpelCom. According to the minister, the Russian government, and specifically the Russian Foreign Ministry would have a difficulty influencing the settlement process, as this concerns a private company. "We are not happy with what's taking place," Lavrov added.
