PM approves transportation strategy until 2030
RBC, 08.12.2008, Moscow 18:25:09.Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has signed the country's transportation strategy covering the period up until 2030, the government's press office reported today. He also commissioned all concerned authorities to ensure the strategy's implementation. As reported earlier, Russian Transportation Minister Igor Levitin officially presented the strategy during a cabinet meeting in Novosibirsk on October 22, 2008. The implementation of the strategy will be carried out in two stages, with the first one providing for the modernization of Russia's transportation system and its complex development. The stage will last until 2015, to be followed by the second stage of intensive and innovative development. The strategy will require RUB 170.581 trillion (approx. USD 6.07 trillion) in investment, including RUB 39.127 trillion (approx. USD 1.39 trillion) from the federal budget.
