Ukraine may trigger cuts in Russia's gas supplies to Europe
RBC, 04.12.2008, Moscow 13:03:12.Russia could choose to curtail gas supplies to Europe via Ukraine unless Kiev meets all transit conditions, Russia's Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said in a nationwide broadcast today as he answered questions from Russians. "We are now assuming that we will meet no problems in gas transit to Europe. If Ukraine, however, fails to comply with transit terms, or taps gas bound for Europe, we will have to cut back on our supplies to Europe. We plan to advise our European partners on the situation in the near future," Putin stressed.
