Russian airlines to receive gov't loans
RBC, 03.12.2008, Moscow 18:21:20.The government will extend loans worth up to RUB 30bn (approx. USD 1.07bn) to major Russian airlines, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov was cited by the Vesti TV channel as saying during a presidential meeting on economic issues. He pointed out that support would first of all be provided to large airlines, such as Aeroflot and Transaero. As for smaller companies, steps to reduce their debt burden are being carried out, Shuvalov noted. The official added that the government intended to allocate RUB 7bn (approx. USD 250m) to major agricultural producers.
