Nanotechnology corporation announces investment plans
RBC, 03.12.2008, Moscow 14:38:15.The Russian Corporation of Nanotechnology (RCNT) will invest more than RUB 240bn (approx. USD 8.57bn) in the nanotechnology sector, the state corporation's General Director Anatoly Chubais told an international forum in Moscow today. He added that annual investment would exceed USD 1bn. Chubais reiterated that the Russian government had initially contributed RUB 130bn (approx. USD 4.64bn) to the RCNT's share capital. The corporation intends to spend RUB 92bn (approx. USD 3.28bn) of that sum on the manufacturing of nanotechnology products, while the remaining RUB 38bn (approx. USD 1.36bn) will be used to set up business incubators and industrial parks. He also said that the RCNT had already received some 750 bids for investments in various nanotechnology projects.
