Russia to build new energy facilities in Vietnam
RBC, 27.10.2008, Moscow 16:15:30.Russia and Vietnam are planning the construction of new oil and gas facilities in Vietnam, as well as the modernization of existing ones, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev told a press conference today, following the signing of several documents on bilateral cooperation in the Kremlin. He also pointed out that Zarubezhneft and Zarubezhneftegaz, Russian companies developing oil and gas fields abroad, as well as Gazprom and Petrovietnam, had signed an agreement on carrying out an oil and gas survey in Vietnam, Russia, and other countries. While the two countries have reached important agreements in various sectors, Medvedev added, energy cooperation is especially important, as it has already enabled the parties to produce an additional $175m tonnes of oil and bring $7.5bn to the Russian budget. The president expressed hope that Russia and Vietnam would continue cooperation in this sector.
