Medvedev calls for easier bank debt collection
RBC, 07.10.2008, Moscow 15:35:14.During today's meeting in Moscow on dealing with the consequences of the financial crisis, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev called for amendments to legislation which would simplify the collection of banks' debts and bank restructuring, the Mayak radio station reported. The President explained that providing banks with subordinated loans worth up to RUB 950bn (approx. USD 36.29bn) for at least five years also needed to go together with such amendments. Medvedev stressed that the government must act as promptly as possible when taking those steps.
