Central Bank to issue unsecured loans
RBC, 29.09.2008, Moscow 17:51:54.The Central Bank will receive the right to extend unsecured loans to commercial organizations, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said during a meeting devoted to Russia's development strategy until 2020. The move will provide the banking sector with the necessary liquidity, the PM said. He reiterated that the Finance Ministry was already granting unsecured loans to 28 different banks. Putin stressed, however, that credit risks had to be minimized, and thus the Central Bank would keep a watchful eye on the financial condition of these organizations.
