Sarkozy-headed EU delegation to arrive in Moscow
RBC, 08.09.2008, Moscow 09:31:16.An EU delegation headed by French President Nicolas Sarkozy will visit Moscow today. Also to arrive in the Russian capital are European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and the EU's High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana. While in Moscow, the French leader will hold talks with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on the progress of the implementation of agreements on the Georgian-South-Ossetian peace process. In this connection, they will discuss the results of an extraordinary EU summit held in Brussels on September 1. The result of this forum was the adoption of a resolution, which was considered by Russia as 'balanced,' due largely to the constructive role of France, which is currently chairing the EU. The agenda of the two leaders' meeting was discussed by them last week over the telephone.
