Kazakhstan approves of Russia's actions in Georgia
RBC, 28.08.2008, Dushanbe 14:58:22.Kazakhstan approves of Russia's operations in Georgia, as Moscow has acted to protect South Ossetian civilians, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said during a meeting with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev following a Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Dushanbe. Western countries ignored the attack of Georgia's armed forces on Tskhinvali, which triggered the subsequent events, the Kazakh leader was cited by the Mayak radio station as saying. Nazarbayev noted that Russia had had no choice but either to ignore Georgia's assault, or stop the bloodshed in South Ossetia.
