Mobile subscriber base expands in Russia
RBC, 19.08.2008, Moscow 15:45:39.The number of Russia's mobile subscribers went up 1.6 percent in July 2008 compared with the previous month, reaching 175.750m SIM cards, Advanced Communications & Media (AC&M) reported in its monthly market review. The mobile phone penetration rate reached 121.1 percent as of July 31, 2008. In Moscow, mobile phone penetration is estimated at 172 SIM cards per 100 people, while in St. Petersburg the figure is 156.6 SIM cards.
