Russia posts weekly inflation
RBC, 09.07.2008, Moscow 14:53:51.Russia's inflation stood at 0.2 percent between July 1 and July 7, whereas year-to-date inflation was 9 percent, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported today. Meanwhile, inflation reached 0.3 percent and 6 percent respectively in the same periods of 2007. Polished rice saw the highest increase in prices from July 1 until July 7 (1.6 percent). Prices for car gasoline and diesel fuel jumped 1.6 percent and 1.9 percent, respectively. The information was prepared by Rosstat on the basis of the weekly monitoring of consumer prices for 50 key products and services, carried out by the service in 265 cities of Russia every Monday.
