Russia's President and Italy's PM ready for dialog
RBC, 08.07.2008, Toyako 16:39:43.Russian President Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi during the current G8 summit in Toyako today, Presidential Aide Sergei Prikhodko told journalists today. The parties praised Russian-Italian cooperation and expressed readiness to continue political dialog in the future. An important theme of the meeting was the establishment of security and trust among European countries. Medvedev informed Berlusconi regarding the work on the European security treaty, and the Italian PM showed interest in the initiative. The parties also discussed humanitarian cooperation, particularly in education, cultural exchange, and the simplification of visa regulations between Russian and Italy, as well as between Russia and the EU. Berlusconi confirmed that Italy was interested in the resolution of the matter.
