Far-reaching goals set for Russian-Kazakh gas plant
RBC, 04.07.2008, Moscow 13:52:34.The establishment of a joint venture between Gazprom and KazMunayGas at the Orenburg natural gas processing plant will enable the plant to process nearly 200bn cubic meters of gas by 2025, Russian Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky told the State Duma ahead of a parliamentary vote on the ratification of a corresponding intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Kazakhstan. According to Yanovsky, the new joint venture will operate based on long-term contracts, whereas the agreement on the company's association does not specify any effective period, and is signed for an indefinite term. In 2007, contracts were signed for purchasing gas from the Karachaganakskoye field for a period of 15 years, the Deputy Minister added.
