Moldova, Gazprom hold gas talks
RBC, 04.07.2008, Chisinau 09:28:19.Moldova's First Deputy PM, Economy Minister Igor Dodon met with Gazprom's Deputy Chairman of the Board Valery Golubev in Moscow on Thursday, the Moldovan Embassy in Russia told RBC. The source specified that at the meeting the parties discussed natural gas supplies to Moldova and prospects for cooperation in this sphere. No further details have been disclosed. As reported earlier, according to preliminary data, the price of Russian gas for Moldova rose roughly 13 percent to $240 per 1,000 cubic meters starting July 1. Moldovan Deputy PM and Economy Minister Igor Dodon announced earlier that Moldova was hoping that the price of Russian gas could be reduced if the formula, according to which it is calculated, were changed. This was one of the questions that he said he intended to discuss during talks with Gazprom's management in Moscow.
