Russian Foreign Minister to visit Turkey
RBC, 30.06.2008, Moscow 16:34:13.Foreign Ministers Sergei Lavrov of Russia and Ali Babacan of Turkey are poised to discuss the settlement of conflicts in Iraq and the Middle East, said Andrei Nesterenko, the official spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry. He added that the meeting would be held in Ankara on Wednesday. The Ministers are expected to discuss a wide range of other issues, including relations between the two countries, the conflicts regarding Iran's nuclear program and Kosovo, and the resolution of Turkey's differences with Cyprus, Nesterenko stated. The parties will also exchange opinions on the prospects for the development of bilateral trade and economic relations, Nesterenko said. He reiterated that trade between Russia and Turkey reached $10.6bn in January-April 2008, a 63.3-percent increase from the same period of the previous year and that Turkey's foreign investment to Russia amounted to some $6bn.
