VolgaTelecom shareholders to mull raising dividend
RBC, 16.05.2008, Moscow 19:25:24.The Board of Directors of VolgaTelecom has recommended that its shareholders boost the dividend payout for 2007 by 35 percent to RUB 857,361,779.89 (approx. USD 36m) compared to a year earlier, the Russian regional mobile telecommunications provider reported. It has been recommended that RUB 4.0534 (approx. USD 0.17) be paid on each type A preferred share, and RUB 2.1346 (approx. USD 0.09) on each common share. The company paid a total of over RUB 633m (approx. USD 27m) as dividend for 2006. Moreover, the Board of Directors has recommended that shareholders endorse an allocation of nearly RUB 2.466bn (approx. USD 103m) towards increasing the company's equity. The Board of Directors has also issued an approval of the company's annual report for 2007. The annual general meeting's agenda will include such items as the approval of the annual report, financial statement, a new version of the Articles of Association, the appointmnt of an auditor, the election of a new Board of Directors and Audit Committee. The annual meeting of shareholders of VolgaTelecom has been scheduled for June 24.
