Moldovagaz repays nearly all gas debt to Gazprom
RBC, 16.05.2008, Chisinau 15:59:02.Gazprom supplied $225.7m worth of natural gas to Moldova's consumers, excluding those living in Transnistria, while Moldovagaz paid $219.4m for it in 2007, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Russian-Moldovan joint venture Gennady Abashkin said during today's annual shareholders meeting in Chisinau. Therefore, Moldovagaz paid for 97 percent of the gas supplied, Abashkin noted. Although Moldovan gas consumers paid Moldovagaz for 89 percent of the gas compared to 83 percent a year earlier, their level of payment is still lower than that of Moldovoagaz to Gazprom. In addition, their total debt to Moldovagaz grew by $33.8m in 2007.
